Japan’s Shin Nippon Machinery Co in jv pact with SMH Manufacturing

Shin Nippon Machinery Co Ltd. (SNM), Japan’s largest steam turbine and process pumps manufacturer for oil & gas and petrochemicals industries, has signed a joint venture agreement in with SMH Manufacturing & Industrial Services Company, a leading company in the field of industrial services in Saudi Arabia providing rotating equipment maintenance and repairs services.

SNM, a Sumitomo Corporation subsidiary, will be manufacturing OEM spare parts for its pumps and turbines in Saudi Arabia in collaboration with SMH Manufacturing & Industrial Services Company, based in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The company is also planning to assemble pumps and turbines in Saudi Arabia to support the oil & gas and petrochemicals industry.

The joint venture agreement was signed in Dubai by Hirotaka Sakoda, President of Shin Nippon Machinery Company, and Mohammed Shafeeq Mohammed Haneefa, Managing Director of SMH Manufacturing & Industrial Services Company, in Dubai.

SNM also opened its regional office at Dubai Airport Free Zone to expand its operations, support and provide services to its customers in the Middle East.

 “We opened the Dubai office for better serving our clients in the UAE and elsewhere in the Middle East by taking advantage of the geographical benefits. The manufacturing and assembling facilities in Saudi Arabia are aimed at supporting companies in oil & gas and petrochemicals companies in the region,” Hirotaka Sakoda said after signing the joint venture agreement.

As per the joint venture agreement, the two companies will strengthen their work in collaboration with each other and will be centred around the new office in Dubai at Dubai Airport Free Zone. The steam turbine and the process pump are the most essential equipment in oil & gas and petrochemicals industries. The spare parts required for this machinery will be manufactured by SMH Manufacturing.

“This partnership will definitely help us expand our services to all countries in the Middle East,” Hirotaka added.

“We have been providing the best services to oil & gas and petrochemicals industries. The new agreement with Shin Nippon will now lead to major changes in the Middle East energy sector,” said Mohammad Shafeeq Mohammed Haneefa, Managing Director of SMH Manufacturing and Industrial Services Company.

SMH’s director Mohammed Shabeer Mohammed Haneefa said the company’s operations are being carried out in alignment with the Saudi Vision 2030 strategy for localising parts.
